Speak Rwanda releases Rwanda Rhythms: a Kinyarwanda music CD

We'd like to introduce eight wonderful young Rwandan singers to the world, whose music styles range from gospel to traditional Rwandan music. The compilation CD Rwanda Rhythms is completely sung in Kinyarwanda the native language of Rwanda. First Rwanda Peace trip of 2010

On February 17th, "four of us will travel to the Land of a Thousand Hills to build friendships that are P.E.A.C.E.-full.  Tim Sievers will be making his first trip to Rwanda along with Jonathan Bain, Debbie Lane (both second-timers), and Bruce Southerland (third trip). Dr. Sievers will be teaching anesthesia at Kibuye Hospital." This team has enthusiastically used Speak Rwanda Basic to prepare for their trips.

The Elevation Project plans another trip to Rwanda in July 2010

Following from the success to support the Elevation Project in Rwanda 2008, Greater Youth Unlimited is planning another trip to Rwanda in July 2010. The purpose of this trip will be to run youth camps, help with school rennovations and more.

Speak Rwanda develops travel language kit

Speak Rwanda Basic, (audio lessons and companion guide) teaching native Kinyarwanda travel phrases is available now. Company founders Serena and Tony Morones are excited about the project and hope that many individuals embarking on trips to Rwanda will experience the country with additional confidence having learned some basic travel phrases.

George Fox students begin learning Kinyarwanda

Beginning today, March 31, a group of students from George Fox College will receive the first release of Speak Rwanda travel language for Kinyarwanda. The group, led by their teachers will be traveling to Rwanda in May 2009 for educational purposes.

 

Orchards Community Group Leaves June 17, 2009

Nearly 40 individuals from Portland, OR area, Las Vegas, NV, Lewiston, ID, and even South Korea plan to leave for Rwanda today, June 18, for two weeks of adventure and ministry. Part of this group is from the Orchards Community church in Lewiston, ID.

 

Michelle Schmidt is the team blogger and plans to keep everyone updated back here in the states. Michelle hopes to listen to the Speak Rwanda Basic audio download on the airplane (I hear the plane ride is 29 hours long).
